Raising the Bar in Software Quality
Quality doesn't come from a QA phase at the end — it comes from habits repeated daily. After 550+ projects, we've distilled software quality into three practices that work at any team size.
1. Reviews that teach, not just catch
The best code reviews spread knowledge, not blame. We require every review to include the reasoning behind a requested change, and we rotate reviewers so no module belongs to one brain. Junior engineers review senior code too — fresh eyes catch assumptions.
2. Tests at the right level
Most teams over-invest in brittle end-to-end tests and under-invest in fast unit tests around business rules. Our rule of thumb: unit-test the decisions, integration-test the seams, and reserve end-to-end tests for the three journeys that would sink the business if they broke.
3. A release checklist with teeth
Every release runs the same gauntlet: automated suite green, performance budget met, accessibility spot-check passed, rollback plan written. It's boring, and that's the point — boring releases are reliable releases.

Pick one: add reasoning to your next three reviews, write one test for your riskiest business rule, or write down your rollback plan before your next deploy. Quality compounds.
